leading-with-purpose-braver-work-better-law

So, like, there’s this article by Marcie Dickson, who’s like the vice president of communications for the Institute for Well-Being in Law Board and also the president of Tapestry ADR. She’s all about calling people out, saying we don’t need more slogans or statements, we need people who actually remember what they’re doing and are brave enough to do it right.

It’s May 19, 2025, and there’s this whole thing going on in the legal world. DEI programs are like disappearing or getting shut down. Affinity groups are, like, going quiet. Words like “belonging” and “inclusion” are too hot to handle now, so they’re not showing up on websites and memos. Organizations are, like, running away from all this diversity stuff, and it’s making us wonder if they ever really cared in the first place.

It’s not really clear why this matters, but maybe we should think about it. If they can just ditch DEI and not care about well-being, then what’s the point of law anyway? Like, why are we even here if we’re not gonna do things right?
