CMS has created a new online resource that will keep businesses and other groups updated on developments around the COP26 in Glasgow.

The COP26 Hub will feature new content every day of the conference. It will also provide insights into the challenges involved in achieving net zero. The Hub also highlights business opportunities in combating climate change, including green finance, renewable energies, and new technology that reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

The free to access website includes a number of CMS discussion reports covering sustainability-focused issues including transport, tourism and the transition to green energy.

Munir Hassan is a partner and heads the CMS energy & Climate Change group. He said that COP26 has more at stake than ever.

Alok Sharma, its president, said that the event is “our last chance to prevent the worst effects from climate change”. CMS will provide a wider view of the issues and themes in the programme through the launch of the COP26 hub.

“Given CMS’s commitment to net zero status by 2025 CMS, COP26 is extremely important to our firm – however, we also recognize that the volume of information and activity generated by COP26 can be overwhelming. CMS’s COP26 Hub can help to distill key themes and outcomes, enabling clients and others to better follow and take part in this critical debate.
