So, this judge, David Ruzumna, from the King County District Court, gave a fake document to a parking attendant in February 2023. The document had the court’s seal and another judge’s signature stamp on it. He was trying to get a discount at a parking garage near the courthouse, but part-time judges didn’t qualify for it. The ethics commission was not having it and recommended he be removed from office.
Ruzumna claimed it was all a joke, showing the attendant his pay stub and judicial robes too. But come on, man, a joke? The commission didn’t buy it, especially after he lied about the document having multiple stamps on it. His lawyer says he’s gonna appeal the decision, but honestly, this whole situation is just embarrassing. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like he should’ve known better.
